A short public guide. The app also includes built-in Help from the desktop Help menu.

Quick start

  1. Connect a database source from the Sources page.
  2. Use Direct Explore to browse tables before saving anything.
  3. Open Data Map to build a map from tables, columns, and relationships.
  4. Double-click a table node to inspect columns.
  5. Select two nodes to compare them and review relationship candidates.
  6. Save the map when you want it listed in Saved Maps.

Direct Explore

Direct Explore lets you browse your own connected database tables. Browsing is not capped by the Free 9-node Data Map limit; that limit applies when saving a Data Map.

Free vs Full

Free includes 2 live sources, 1 saved Data Map with up to 9 tables/nodes, 1 working table, and 1 saved view.

Full unlocks unlimited saved sources, maps, working tables, saved views, exports, imports, SQL endpoint publishing, and sharing verification features.

Sharing and verification

Data Map exports contain structure and metadata, not database passwords or private signing keys. Export Identity and Trust Codes help recipients verify that a file was signed by that Export Identity, but they do not prove a legal or organizational identity.
